Responding To Prabowo's Energy Swasembada, MIND ID: We Are All Out

JAKARTA - BUMN Holding Indonesian Mining Industry, MIND ID is committed to increasing the added value of mineral commodities as support for President Prabowo Subianto's priority vision in self-sufficiency in energy.

To support President Prabowo's vision, MIND ID President Director Hendi Prio Santoso said efforts to encourage energy self-sufficiency were carried out, one of which was through industrialization.

"In fact, I strongly agree with him, with his vision, and we will all go out to realize President Prabowo's vision," he said, Thursday, October 24.

The commitment to downstream the MIND ID Group was realized through the operation of a number of smelter facilities for both copper and bauxite as well as the development of other downstream projects.

First, the copper concentrate refining plant owned by PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) in Manyar, Gresik, East Java with an investment value of around IDR 58 trillion.

The copper smelter with the world's largest single line design is able to purify the copper concentrate with a input capacity of 1.7 million tons of concentrate and produce copper cathodes of around 650,000 tons per year, producing 50 tons of gold and 210 tons of silver.

Second, the Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) Phase 1 in Mempawah, West Kalimantan. Smelters with an investment of around IDR 16 trillion will absorb around 3.3 million bauxite ore per year by producing 1 million tons of alumina as raw material for aluminum.

He also emphasized that MIND ID is committed to continuing investment in SGAR Phase 2 which will strengthen the production capacity of alumina and is equipped with a smelter factory to produce aluminum.

Next year, MIND ID Group has several champion programs ranging from aluminum smelter expansions, chemical tin and tin sollier capacity expansions, to the development of lead primary block #1 and block #1.

Hendi explained that if in the past, after being mined, it was immediately transported on a ship, it would be exported immediately. Unlike now, MIND ID has a processing area or process, processing. The downstream foundation has been carried out.

"There is a smelter, and we have even moved towards the middle chain, making raw materials for the industry," added Hendi.

Hendi is optimistic that what has been placed by the previous government can be accelerated in the era of President Prabowo.
