AHY Doesn't Know When Prabowo Will Visit IKN

JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto has been officially inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029. Meanwhile, Prabowo delivered a state speech after the inauguration at the Kura-kura Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20.

He discussed various issues in the speech which lasted almost 30 minutes. He discussed ranging from poverty, corruption, food self-sufficiency, energy to subsidies. However, in the speech, Prabowo did not mention the development of IKN.

So, will Prabowo visit IKN in the near future?

Related to this, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), also opened his voice.

When met by the media crew at the Ministry of Public Works (PU), AHY admitted that he did not know about this. "Not yet, I don't know yet," he told reporters, Wednesday, October 23.

AHY did not say much about Prabowo's planned visit to IKN in the near future. However, he ensured that the development of IKN in the Prabowo era would continue.

Later, said AHY, the IKN project in the Prabowo era will be prioritized for the construction of legislative and judicial buildings.

Bearing in mind, he continued, the construction of the executive building at IKN itself has been carried out in the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s leadership with the progress of phase I development of almost 90 percent.

"Besides the executive, of course, is the legislature. So, the parliament building must also be ready, including for judicial institutions. This is at least what I hear directly from his direction in the future," said Agus.

"Prioritize it first before it is developed or expanded for other functions, government and other business functions," he continued.
