AHY Visits Ministry Of Public Works: I Want To Know Close To Teras Officials

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) visited the Ministry of Public Works (PU). He admitted that he wanted to know top officials at the Ministry of Public Works.

"I want to get to know more closely the top officials, at the same time I listened to the explanation as an overview of the initial baseline of various action plans. Including the policies that will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and also of course by the Coordinating Ministry for Infra and Regional Development," said AHY at the PUPR Ministry office, Wednesday, October 23.

During the visit, AHY was accompanied by Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo and Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti and a number of other Public Works officials. There is also the Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara.

"Also the Minister of Transmigration, Mr. Iftitah Sulaiman, who I deliberately involved because I wanted the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure team to be solid," he said.

AHY said that he would also visit the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for problem spending. He said infrastructure development needs continuity.

"So, the spirit is how the future infrastructure development will bring sustainability, continuity of infrastructure development that has been carried out in the last 5-10 years, also of course the previous periods," he said.

"Because infrastructure development cannot be separated, there must be continuity and this is important. Because if the infrastructure development seems to be disconnecting between one government and the next one, it feels ineffective, inefficient and the value is not optimal," he concluded.

Meanwhile, AHY as Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development coordinated five technical ministries, namely the Ministry of ATR/BPN, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Transmigration and the Ministry of Transportation.
