PT Pertagas continues to transform into a reliable national energy infrastructure company, (Doc PGN)

JAKARTA PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) as part of Pertamina's Gas Sub Holding continues to show its commitment to building and operating energy distribution infrastructure in Indonesia. To date, Pertagas has operated 63 pipeline sections along 2,930 KM in Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan to meet energy needs to various industries in the country.

Gas Subholding (SHG) as the largest manager of national natural gas continues to grow progressively and is sustainability-oriented, SHG not only maintains existing businesses, but also continues to strive to improve the reliability of its operational performance.

Harry Budhi Sidharta, Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PT PGN Tbk, said that in his efforts to transform into a national energy infrastructure company, Pertagas as part of the Sub Holding Gas continues to expand its business coverage not only in terms of natural gas distribution. Currently Pertagas has carried out business expansion in the provision of other energy infrastructure such as petroleum and fuel pipes," said Harry, Monday (14/10).

Until now, Pertagas has built and operated Oil Pipes along more than 605 km including Tempino Oil Pipes in the Central Sumatra Area Operation and Rokan Oil Pipes located in the Rokan Area Operation.

"The contribution of Pertagas in the distribution of oil on the island of Sumatra supports national energy security, which has contributed to the provision of national energy needs," said Harry.

In addition, Pertagas is also working on the construction of the Cikampek Plumpang fuel distribution pipeline. The momentum for the construction of a 96 KM pipeline was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Pertamina Patra Niaga on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Pertagas not only continues to develop its pipeline network, but is also committed to ensuring the reliability of energy distributed. This commitment is supported by Pertagas competence in the operational and maintenance sector of pipes and supporting facilities. The certified human resource capacity (HR) is one of the main pillars in maintaining high operational standards, ranging from installation to maintenance processes carried out with professionalism and compliance with regulations.

In matters of work safety, until the end of September 2024 Pertamina Gas recorded safe working hours reaching 105,142,028 hours, affirming its commitment to prioritizing safety as a top priority. Pertagas seeks to create a safe and healthy work environment, reducing the risk of accidents to maintain operational reliability of energy distribution.

In addition, to maintain the reliability of oil pipeline operations, Pertagas carries out risk control control through Security and Oil Losses Management With Integrated Detection System, as well as control the accuracy of measuring tools (meters) in overcoming mismatch (discreancy) with strict procedures. By applying the principles of Flow Assurance and Pipeline Integrity, Pertagas ensures that each energy flow runs smoothly and safely, and meets established quality standards.

Harry said Pertagas will continue to develop and add energy distribution infrastructure and synergize with upstream to downstream industries.

Accessibility of integrated energy distribution infrastructure is a great opportunity for Pertagas to develop its business. With the competence possessed in the midstream sector, Pertagas is able to explore cooperation with upstream and downstream industries to transport various types of energy, such as natural gas, petroleum, and fuel.
