KAI Ensures Readiness Of Logistics Services Support IKN Development

JAKARTA - KAI Logistics ensures the readiness of services to support the fulfillment of logistical needs in the development and development of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

"In line with the development and development plan of the capital city of Nusantara in East Kalimantan, we are trying to continue to strengthen logistics services to ensure the fulfillment of logistical needs in supporting the development of IKN," said KAI Logistics President Director Fredi Firmansyah as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 15.

According to him, the current development of IKN will have an impact on increasing logistical demand, especially towards IKN.

Responding to this, his party seeks to provide reliable logistical convenience so that it can meet a variety of logistics services served either through domestic freight forwarding or logistics projects.

Through KALOG Plus, especially domestic freight forwarding services, KAI Logistics serves delivery to various points in Kalimantan as delivery hubs such as Balikpapan and Samarinda.

"Furthermore, delivery can be continued using trucking to the IKN area. Thus, the company ensures the smooth running of the logistics supply chain towards the IKN area," he said.

He further said that KAI Logistics can also serve the needs of special and large goods delivery which are handled specifically through logistics projects in the KALOG Pro segment.

"Through this service, KAI Logistics is able to send high-value goods such as transportation facilities and other supporting infrastructure with the involvement and assistance of a team of experts with supply chain management certification and delivery management," he said.

Fredi ensured that his party was able to support the acceleration of logistics to maximize the development and development needs of IKN as the capital city of Indonesia, which in the future will be the main point for the flow of goods and logistics.

KAI Logistics has mapped the island of Kalimantan as one of the strategic goals that will be the buffer for IKN development.

Until September 2024, through the domestic freight forwarding service, KAI Logistics has served delivery to Kalimantan with a volume of 85 Teus or the equivalent of 1,700 tons.

Meanwhile, on courier services, since March 2024, the company has expanded shipments to Kalimantan, where until September 2024 KALOG Express has served goods shipments with a volume of more than 4,300 kilograms (kg).
