Jokowi's Leadership Will End Soon, 2,086 Hectares Of Land At IKN Are Still In Trouble

JAKARTA - The change of government from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to Prabowo Subianto is no less than a week away. However, as many as 2,086 hectares of land in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) are still problematic.

Minister of Agrarian Spatial Planning/Head of the State Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono said that currently the land acquisition is entering the land appraisal assessment stage by the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP).

Of the total land that is still problematic, Agus said that his party prioritized two areas, namely for the construction of the IKN Toll Road section 6A and 6B as well as the Sepaku Flood Control area.

"There are still 2,086 hectares of complications because there are still people there. Currently, it is still in the process of being assessed. So, there are 6A and 6B (toll) roads, also in Sepaku Flood Control. In principle, not all 2,086 hectares are still in the community. But we prioritize that there are two main locations that we are pushing. Currently, KJPP is conducting identification, inventory and assessment assessment assessments," said the man who is familiarly called AHY quoted, Saturday, October 12.

Then, the IKN Authority (OIKN) can find a middle ground for both parties. Agus hopes that the process will be completed soon so as not to leave problems in the future.

Agus also ensured that around 34,000 hectares of land out of a total of 36,000 land allocated to IKN had no problems. His own party has freed up about 4,000 hectares of land for the construction of IKN Airport.

"We, the Ministry of ATR BPN, continue to oversee this development from the start and there are also around 4,000 hectares that we are still allocating, also used from land bank allocations, especially for airport VIPs. This includes the development of areas there," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that his party had prepared cash through a spiritual fund scheme to compensate 2,086 hectares of land in IKN which had not been cleared.

Basuki explained that the legal basis for cash payments is in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2024.

"We have prepared Rp140 billion from the (Ministry) of Public Works to pay for it later," said Basuki when met by reporters at his office, Friday, August 23.

In addition, he said, his party had received a report that there were people who asked for compensation to be given through a cash scheme.

"This is from Mr. Alimuddin (Deputy for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment of the IKN Authority), the community is still deliberating. There are several letters asking for immediate payment (cash)," he said.
