JAKARTA - Indonesia shows its commitment to continue to increase the competitiveness of the national industry in the global arena by participating in the international exhibition Manufacturing World Osaka (MWO) which will take place on 2-4 October 2024 in Japan.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said Indonesia's participation in this year's Manufacturing World Osaka international exhibition resulted in very proud results.

Through this event, more than 10 million US dollars in business agreements have been reached from cooperation with Japanese companies.

The Minister of Industry said that the establishment of this collaboration proves that domestic industrial technology and innovation has become increasingly recognized globally.

"We are optimistic that this collaboration will open up greater investment opportunities, accelerate the transformation of industry 4.0 in the country and increase the competitiveness of the Indonesian industry in the international arena," said the Minister of Industry in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, October 12.

In addition, the achievement of an agreement of 10 million US dollars is a significant step in promoting the Indonesian industry in the global arena.

Agus assessed that this agreement not only shows the potential of Indonesian products, but also the confidence of foreign parties in the quality and competitiveness of the national industry.

"This success is a motivation for industry players to continue to innovate and adapt to technological developments," he said.

As many as 10 Indonesian manufacturing industry players had the opportunity to become co-exhibitors at the event, by introducing various innovations and their superior products to visitors from various countries.

The ten participants were facilitated by a booth by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), with the theme "Making Indonesia 4.0". This effort is expected to encourage the implementation of industrial technology 4.0 in a sustainable manner as well as attract investment from global scale investors.

During the exhibition, the Indonesian booth managed to attract more than 500 visitors consisting of industry players, academics and other stakeholders. The enthusiasm of visitors shows the high interest in products and technology offered by Indonesian industry players.

It is known, co-exhibitors not only display products, but also introduce the technological advantages applied in the production process. This is a strategic step to increase Indonesia's competitiveness at the international level.

Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Resilience, Region and International Industrial Access (KPAII) Eko SA Cahyanto said that Indonesia's participation is one of the efforts to optimize the government in attracting foreign investors, one of which is by conducting a broad market sounding to potential investors regarding investment potential and opportunities in Indonesia.

"What is no less important is branding related to advanced industry to companies that already exist in Indonesia," he said.

To increase cooperation opportunities, co-exhibitors are also actively visiting Japanese company booths which are potential buyers.

According to Eko, this activity provides opportunities for them to understand more deeply about the needs of the Japanese market and the latest trends in the manufacturing industry.

"With this approach, it is hoped that Indonesian industry players can be better prepared to meet the expectations and needs of international buyers," he concluded.
