Keep Natural Gas Distribution Safe And Safe, PGN Achieves The 2024 Subroto Award

JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding continues to maintain the management and distribution of natural gas for the country. This commitment is a top priority for PGN to increase natural gas production massively in order to meet domestic needs safely and safely. In addition, this is PGN's effort to support Indonesia's economic improvement.

PGN's role in distributing natural gas to date by all operational areas reached 841 BBTUD in the period June 2024. The security and safety aspects are also always implemented by PGN in every activity with more than 500 million Working Hours Safe (JKA).

For its positive performance in maintaining the fulfillment of natural gas safely and safely, PGN through SOR II received the appreciation of the Subroto Award which is the highest award in the energy and mineral resources sector from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the Safety, Engineering and Environmental Protection group on Thursday (10/10/2024).

The handover of the 2024 Subroto Award award was opened directly by President Joko Widodo and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia. Commercial Director of PGN Ratih Esti Prahatini was present to represent PGN to receive the award.

This achievement was also supported by the contribution of all regions of PGN's operations, one of which is the main area that drives Indonesia's economy, namely West Java (JBB), which is managed by Sales and Operation Region II (SOR II). This is evidenced by the achievement of 48 JKA by SOR II in the implementation of security and safety aspects in every activity.

The distribution of natural gas in the JBB region by PGN uses 3,200 km of pipes which are divided into two, namely 1,817 steel pipes and 1,398 PE pipes and supported by a number of supporting infrastructures. This infrastructure distributes gas from several sources such as Pertamina EP, MEPG, and is integrated with SSWJ Pipelines, FSRU Lampung and FSRU West Java.

PGN's operating areas through SOR II include DKI Jakarta, Banten, and West Java. There are 9 customer segments, namely households as many as 230,453 customers, small customers as many as 795 customers, industry as many as 1,473 customers, and power plants as many as 7 customers. In addition, PGN also provides and distributes natural gas for refineries, fertilizers, SPBG and lifting oils. Most MSME and retail customers have also been served with the moda beyond pipelined compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

The trend of growth in the use of natural gas in the region is very potential, so the Subroto Award award is our trigger to always prioritize aspects of security, safety and concern for the environment," said Ratih.
