Meet Many Challenges, Meninting Dam Project In NTB Targeted To Be Completed By The End Of 2024

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) said the progress of the construction of the Meninting Package I Dam in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) had reached 87.7 percent. The company targets this project to be completed by the end of 2024.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said the progress of development had entered its final stage, namely the work of the main dam.

"In the Meninting Dam construction project, Hutama Karya worked on the main dam, temporary cofferdam, facility building, left and right access flow and landing," said Adjib in his official statement, written Tuesday, October 8.

Adjib said, in accelerating project work, the company used cutting-edge technology to ensure project efficiency and accuracy, including the use of building information modeling (BIM) and photogrametry.

The use of this technology allows for a digital data sharing and approval process that can accelerate the stages of BIM construction and implementation in this project. This includes having a significant impact on improving the quality and accuracy of work.

Even so, Adjib admitted, there were several challenges during project work, such as narrow and steep land conditions, delays in land acquisition, extreme weather and the lack of available core material from the dam area.

Then, road access which is still being worked on by the National Road Implementation Center (BPJN).

To ensure the acceleration of the completion of this project, Hutama Karya conducted intensive coordination with various related parties and optimized the use of existing technology.

"We are confident that with the support and synergy of all parties, this project will be completed according to the target," he added.

The Meninting Package I Dam project was carried out through Operational Cooperation (KSO) of PT Bahagia Bangun Nusa (Bangun Nusa) (Hutama-Bangun Nusa) with a contract value of IDR 902.1 billion.
