Find Gas And Condensates At Tedong Morowali Well, SKK Migas: Increase Indonesia's Energy Resilience

JAKARTA The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) together with PT Pertamina EP managed to find gas and condescence up to 11.871 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) in North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng).

"Gas and condesate at the time of drilling for Sumur TDG-01 at interval 3, when the flow back was carried out, with promising results," said Head of the SKK Migas drilling and wells Division Surya Widyantoro in his statement, Sunday, October 6.

Surya said the exploration of Sumur Tedong (TDG)-001, which was drilled on July 29, 2024, also managed to find 136 barrel condensates per day (BCPD) with the openings of 44/64 and 13.894 MMSCFD and 202 BCPD with 52/64 openings.

Furthermore, Surya said this drilling was then followed by the Drill Stem Test (DST) work carried out at an interval of four k, with the aim of testing hydrocarbon content in the Tedong-001 well.

"With this promising result, the Tedong (TDG)-001 well is expected to contribute significantly in increasing the potential for national oil and gas reserves, as well as supporting efforts to increase Indonesia's energy security," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D. Suryodipuro, said that the findings of gas and condensates in northern Morowali, Sulawesi were believed to be promising findings with good prospects.

"This shows the potential for oil and gas in Central Sulawesi, it can still be obtained by exploring," said Hudi.
