Kemenkop UKM Akui Aplikasi Temu Sudah Masuk Ke Malaysia: Mereka Kecolongan

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) said that the application from China, Temu, had succeeded in entering the Malaysian market.

Acting (Plt) Deputy for SMEs at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs, Temmy Satya Permana, said this showed concern regarding the impact of the application on domestic products.

"Temu sudah masuk ke Malaysia, kira-kira dampaknya apa buat produk dalam negeri? Jawab mereka sangat diplomatis. Sebetulnya mereka juga kelolongan, ya," kata Temmy dalam konferensi pers di kantor Kemenkop UKM, Jakarta, Kamis, 3 Oktober.

Temmy said this was known after he accompanied the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (Menkop UKM) Teten Masduki during a working visit (kunker) to Malaysia some time ago.

He said his officials answered very diplomatically and they admitted that they had also missed it.

Although Malaysia does not want to openly admit it, said Temmy, they realize that Indonesia is more vigilant in protecting its local products.

"But we don't want to admit it if it turns out that we missed. It turns out that Indonesia is more aware of protecting its (local) products," said Temmy.

Previously, the Special Staff of the Minister for Creative Economy Empowerment at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs, Fiki Satari, said the government was committed to overseeing and ensuring that the Temu application could not enter the Indonesian market.

According to him, if the application enters Indonesia, this will greatly endanger domestic MSMEs.
