PGN President Director Ensures The Utilization Of Household Jargas In Sleman Is Smooth

YOGYAKARTA - President Director of PT PGN Tbk Arief Setiawan Handoko conducted a direct inspection of the development of a gas network (jargas) for households in the Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Friday, September 27. The development of gas networks in this region uses the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Clustering scheme.

CNG Clustering is used because the Sleman Regency area has not been reached by the transmission pipeline network or natural gas distortion. Therefore, natural gas from Blora is transported in the form of CNG using the Gas Transport Module (GTM) truck, then compressed to lower the pressure before being channeled to customers' homes.

To date, there are 3,500 household gas networks in Sleman (SR) from the target of 7,000 SR. The number of customers will continue to increase in line with the gas network infrastructure that continues to be built in this area.

"Earth gas services for households are a form of PGN's obligation to carry out a public service obligation. So PGN is obliged to serve the community. In addition to serving the community, we are heading to the net zero emission program," said Arief.

The jargas program is also expected to reduce LPG imports, as well as reduce the use of subsidized LPG. Because LPG is still imported, the jargas will help reduce the burden on the flow of imports and LPG subsidies. Hopefully, the use of gas will be more imitated by other mothers so that cooking is more efficient and faster," said Arief.

Arief also appealed to the PGN team on duty in the Yogyakarta area to intensify socialization of the use of gas cylinders to the community. Including education related to the safety of natural gas use. Considering that Yogyakarta is a new development area, PGN needs to provide education to people whose territory is traversed by jargas pipes.
