No Longer Imported, InJourney Involves Local Human Resources As Marshal MotoGP Mandalika

CENTRAL LOMBOK - Marshal has an important role in the success of the 2024 Mandalika Grand Prix MotoGP event. This is the first time all marshals on duty are local human resources (HR), especially the people of Lombok and its surroundings.

In the two previous events, Indonesia still imported marshals from Europe to Malaysia. Likewise with other officers who worked during the preparation and implementation of the Mandalika MotoGP.

InJourney's Director of Marketing and Tourism Program, Maya Watono, said there were 2,500 volunteers involved in the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP event. Including it, there is a marshal.

"If we start MotoGP three years ago, marshals, facilities, support, we import all from Europe, from Spain, from Malaysia-Sepang. This time we are full of local human resources, from Lombok and from Indonesia," said Maya at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, quoted on Sunday, September 29.

Furthermore, Maya explained that this was a form of improvement from local human resources during the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit.

"Maybe one more thing that I don't know about human resources is about employment. We'll see that the increase in job opportunities produced from MotoGP is very large," he said.

In addition to making improvements in terms of human resources, Maya said InJourney is also improving infrastructure at the Mandalika Circuit. He said this was done for the convenience of visitors while watching MotoGP.

"We saw that there was a roof at the Grand Stand, so now maybe those who watched it this year won't get hot and we also do various activities on the circuit," he said.

Learn From Foreign Marshal

Met separately, one of the marshals from Lombok, Muhammad Kholid Rizqi (25) admitted that he had been a marshal since the first MotoGP held at the Mandalika Circuit, in 2022.

However, continued Kholid, the first time he became a marshal was in 2021, namely at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK). He said the local marshals were trained for work on the track, pitlane, and so on by marshals from abroad.

"We were trained by the marshal from Sepang. We are the first marshal from Lombok, so that there is a lesson from the outside marshal so that his work is more efficient, work is more professional," said Kholid.

Kholid said there were more than 300 marshals serving in the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP. He said that all of them were residents of Kuta, Praya, Mataram, and surrounding areas. Including, the chief sector that trains the new marshals is now mostly from within the country.

There is also a new one this year, directed by the chief sector first. Some of the chief sectors are local, which he is a marshal from the start, he is believed to be the chief sector of each, chief marshal," he explained.
