Illegal Import Goods Supervision Task Force Completed December 2024, Continued In Prabowo Government?

CIKARANG UTARA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the work of the Special Goods Supervision Task Force, which is subject to an Imported Commercial Procedure, will be completed by the end of this year or its dispersal in December 2024.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said that the Task Force's work was still ongoing at the beginning of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration.

As is known, the transition to government will occur in October 2024. In that month, the Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin government will switch to Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"I think the task force will be on duty until next December," he said in North Cikarang, Bekasi, Thursday, September 26.

However, when asked about the certainty of the continuation of the task force in the coming year, Zulhas said that this was determined by the new government.

"Finished, yes, it's up to the new government," he said.

Zulhas said that since it was formed some time ago, the Illegal Imported Goods Supervision Task Force has taken action against various business actors.

Most recently, the task force managed to secure 11,000 tons of elbow steel that did not match SNI and had a Goods Registration Number (NPB) in North Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java. Thousands of steel elbows amounted to Rp11 billion.

"This is in the context of the task force that we form to continue to discipline, to protect consumers, goods in accordance with the provisions and regulations. Starting from steel, yesterday's clothes, yesterday's warehouses, warehousing. Then there are also carpets and others," he said.
