SOE Minister Sad To Watch President Jokowi Says Goodbye To Pontianak Residents

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Mawar Market, Pontianak, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan). During his visit, Jokowi said goodbye to the citizens because his term as President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) was about to end.

When saying goodbye, Jokowi also apologized to the public for his shortcomings during his 10 years as number 1 person in Indonesia.

"One month I will retire my duties, apologize profusely to all of you, if in 10 years I lead this country there are things that are not pleasing, there are mistakes, there are mistakes, there are shortcomings, once again I apologize profusely," said Jokowi quoted from Instagram @erickthohir, Tuesday, September 24.

The moment Jokowi said goodbye was recorded directly by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and uploaded it to social media. He admitted that he was sad when he saw Jokowi saying goodbye to Pontianak residents.

"Sad, sad. His condolences," said Erick.

Agreeing, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, who was also present at the location and witnessed the moment when Jokowi said goodbye, said he was sad.

"Sad, (he) said goodbye to the people," said Bahlil.

Erick said he was sad because Jokowi would retire in the next 26 days. However, he also feels proud to have accompanied Jokowi for the last five years.

"Sad, but also proud because he was able to be a witness for the last five years how he led Indonesia with a heart," he wrote.

Not to forget, Erick also thanked Jokowi for being given the opportunity to help the government. According to Erick, Jokowi always ensures that the government's program can be felt by the community.

"Thank you Mr. President, for all the opportunities to be able to help in this government," said Erick.
