BUIC ExxonMobil's Second Well Ready To Add 13,000 BOPD

JAKARTA - The drilling of ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL)'s second Banyu Urip Infill Classic (BUIC) well has completed its second drilling activity in the B-12 development well in the Banyu Urip field, Bojonegoro, East Java.

Head of the SKK Migas Reserve Optimization Division, Sri Andaryani, said that Sumur B-12 successfully demonstrated excellent reservoir facilities, namely react complexes, which are reservoir quality above the target.

In addition, the perforation strategy has been carefully considered and maintained with a fairly safe Gas Oil Contact (GOC) and Oil Water Contact (OWC).

"This success achievement was obtained from the hard work of the team where after the results of the first well drilling, namely B-13, the Banyu Urip reservoir model was re-evaluated because there was uncertainty from the facies react complex limit and optimization was carried out by changing the target trajectory of wells," he said, Monday, September 23.

Currently, the B-12 well has entered the clean-up stage with production at the level of 5,000 BOPD and will be increased gradually until it is expected to reach the production level of 13,000 BOPD.

Head of the drilling and maintenance Division of the well, Surya Widyantoro, said the B-12 development well reached the drilling target at a depth of 6076 ftMD using the PDSI-40 drilling platform.

"The B-12 well drilling activity was completed for 45 days, six days earlier than planned," he said.

Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D Suryodipuro, said that SKK Migas welcomes the addition of production from B-12 wells and it is hoped that from the development of these wells there will be additional oil and gas liftings nationally.

"As the field with the largest production number 2 in Indonesia, the success of the drilling program in the Bunyu Urip field will have a major impact in efforts to increase oil lifting nationally," said Hudi.

SKK Migas, according to Hudi, will continue to encourage KKKS to explore and develop existing wells so that they can realize energy security and increase lifting.

"We give appreciation for the team that works, hopefully this will have a positive effect on other KKKS to continue to target national oil and gas production for energy security," said Hudi.

As is known, with the active drilling and development of wells in the Bogonegoro trivial field, East Java.

Currently, there are five Banyu Urip Infill Classic (BUIC) drillings consisting of 3 Carbonate infill wells and 2 Classic infill wells that will only start taxing on the first Sunday of October 2024 with an estimated completion by 2025.
