Basuki Admits He Has Discussed With Prabowo To Discuss The Sustainability Of IKN And PUPR, Invited To Enter The Cabinet?

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono admitted that he had been invited to a discussion with the elected President Prabowo Subianto.

However, Basuki admitted that the conversation was not about whether or not he was included in the Prabowo government cabinet.

However, he talked about the sustainability of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) and the Ministry of PUPR.

"The discussion is only the sustainability of the Ministry of PUPR and IKN," said Basuki at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, written Thursday, September 19.

According to Basuki, his appointment as minister again is the authority of Prabowo as the President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029.

Basuki also handed over whether or not he entered the cabinet exchange to the General Chair of the Gerindra Party.

"It's up to you. That's his prerogative, right," he added.

Based on VOI records, Basuki said that he would soon retire as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in October 2024.

It is known that he has served as Minister of PUPR for a decade in the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) government.

The media crew also asked Basuki what he would do after he no longer served as Minister of PUPR.

He immediately laughed at the news.

"Yes, I'll be able to learn later," said Basuki while laughing when met by reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.
