JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will certainly inaugurate one of the sections on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) in the near future.

The toll roads to be inaugurated are the 31.9 kilometers (km) toll road.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono after a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 18.

"There is still one more, the name is the Fifty-Kisaran Toll Road," said Basuki.

Basuki said that the construction of the freeway had been completed and was just waiting for President Jokowi's schedule for its inauguration.

"(The tool) is finished now, just waiting for the schedule of the president (to be inaugurated)," he said.

Quoted from the official website of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR, the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road has a total length of 47.5 km consisting of 2 sections. Section I of the Indrapura-Five Puluh section is 15.6 km long and Section II is Fifty-Kisaran along 31.9 km.

The Section I of the Indrapura-Five Puluh section was inaugurated by Jokowi in early February 2024.

Meanwhile, Section II of the Limapuluh-Kisaran section has been tested for Functional Feasibility (ULF) some time ago and is just waiting to be inaugurated by Jokowi.

Later, the toll road will connect the production center for economic improvement for the community in connected areas, especially from the Medan area to Kisaran and its surroundings by accelerating travel time from what is usually only about 4 hours of travel to 2 hours.
