Coordinating Minister Luhut Calls BIAS 2024 Reflecting Indonesia's Strength In The Aerospace Industry

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan assessed that the Bali International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 event reflects Indonesia's strength in the global aerospace industry.

"This aerospace show shows our strength to compete and become a leading global player in the aerospace industry, I underline our efforts to map the future of a brighter and more sustainable aviation sector," he said, quoting Antara.

Luhut in Badung Regency, Wednesday, said that the return of this international aerospace exhibition after 28 years was a historic momentum, a strategic opportunity to show Indonesian aerospace.

The presence of 100 global aerospace companies to Bali International Airshow 2024 shows that this event is more than just an exhibition.

"This is a strategic turning point for Indonesian aerospace, we are very proud to witness Indonesia's reputation and progress, Indonesian aviation, the aerospace industry, high-quality products displayed at this exhibition," said the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs.

The N219 aircraft by PT Dirgantara Indonesia and the advanced crewless aircraft from PT LEN are used as examples of Indonesia's competitive abilities in this industry.

"This progress is proof of the Indonesian government's commitment to promoting local content throughout the industry, ensuring that our innovation is not only world-class, but also rooted in domestic expertise and resources," said Luhut Binsar.

The government's efforts to encourage the progress of the aerospace industry in the country because they realize this sector is the main driver of economic and social progress.

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has invested in the aviation sector to ensure unlimited connectivity, develop quality of goods and services, improve the tourism sector and advance economic growth.

As a country with strategic geopolitical significance, the power of the aerospace industry is also considered to determine the readiness of air defense in maintaining regional stability sovereignty.

"Bali International Airshow is an opportunity for Indonesia and strategic partners to provide support, collaboration and partnerships, and I believe this exhibition and dialogue forum will play an important role in the Indonesian and regional aviation industry," said the Coordinating Minister.

Bali International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 took place 18-21 September 2024 at the southern apron of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, where in addition to the aerospace exhibition, an aerobatic action was also taking place from the air force pilot team.
