Airlangga Reveals Strategy To Protect The Economy

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto conveyed several government strategies in maintaining economic growth at the level of 5 percent by the end of the year.

Airlangga conveyed his strategy, namely to maintain the prices of basic necessities so that people's purchasing power is maintained properly.

"The core inflation remains high, but there is a decrease in inflation from volatile food which is indeed managed by the inflation control committee that I lead, indeed food is lowered," he said after a meeting at the Garuda Palace, Friday, September 13.

Airlangga added that the policies that can be utilized by the middle class are Value Added Tax (VAT) borne by the government for property and automotive.

"Policies that go directly to the community, namely the middle class, including VAT borne by the government and VAT in the automotive sector are all boosted in Quarter IV, so that growth is maintained at 5 percent," he said.

Airlangga said the government was also boosting government spending so that absorption was more optimal and had an impact on the community.

"Lastly, what we can boost is government spending, usually 95 percent if we can boost it better," he said.
