JAKARTA - The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, has awarded the Paritrana Award to 12 Provinces, 11 Regencies/Cities, 3 Villages and 13 business actors who are considered successful in supporting the implementation of the employment social security program.
Located at Plaza BPJAMSOSTEK, Kuningan, Jakarta, the awarding of the Paritrana Award is one of the government's efforts to accelerate the realization of justice and social welfare for Indonesian workers as a whole.
As a result, entering the 7th year of the Paritrana Award, the achievement of universal coverage of employment social security continues to increase.
In his remarks, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that the government is moving to increase the universal coverage of Employment Social Security. He hopes that by 2045, 99.5 percent of workers in Indonesia will be protected.
"The employment social security protection program is a tangible manifestation of the presence of the state in providing protection and welfare for workers and their families," said the Vice President.
"In an effort to get to Indonesia Gold 2045, one of the pillars of development to be achieved is human development through labor reform. The government continues to strive to improve the universal coverage of Employment Social Security," he added.
The vice president also instructed local governments to the smallest government levels, such as villages/kelurahan to play an active role in ensuring that every worker becomes an active participant in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, especially through optimizing the Jamsostek program and programs to accelerate the elimination of extreme poverty.
"Let's work together and strengthen the employment social security system so that all workers and their families are protected from various risks and vulnerabilities, and accelerate the realization of labor-free anxiety for all Indonesian workers," said the Vice President.
This is also in line with the 2025 State Budget which focuses on improving the quality of human resources through strengthening Perlinsos for all life in order to build Indonesian demographics towards aging society.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy revealed that the Paritrana Award is a form of appreciation as well as the government's efforts to encourage the optimization of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 2 of 2021 concerning Optimization of the Implementation of the Employment Social Security Program, and Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2022 concerning Accelerating the Elimination of Extreme Poverty, in order to realize reliable and prosperous human development.
This 'Paritrana Award' is given to those who have seriously fulfilled their duties and obligations to workers in their respective environments. And this is a good step from BPJS Employment, of course, together with the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other relevant Ministries, so that with the award we hope to stimulate the perpetrators to be able to give very high concern to workers in their respective environments," explained Coordinating Minister Muhadjir.
On this occasion, the President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo revealed that until now, the number of active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants has reached 39.2 million workers or an increase of 49.34 percent since the beginning of the Paritrana Award. This shows that the commitment and strong synergy of all parties are able to encourage the creation of prosperity for workers.
"To date, 39.2 million workers have been protected. Indeed, this figure is still far from the number of Indonesian working residents who can be participants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, which is 101 million workers. Of the total number of workers protected, 2.81 million are vulnerable workers," explained Anggoro.
"Lengest workers are workers who really need protection because they are vulnerable to them and their families will fall into extreme poverty, therefore I invite all of us from the Central Government, Provinces, Regencies/Cities to Villages together to seek protection for vulnerable workers," he added.
In line with that, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is also focusing on expanding participation strategies to reach workers in the village ecosystem, market ecosystem, SME & E-Commerce and Vulnerable Workers.
He also said that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan collaborated with inspiring community leaders throughout the country to increase program literacy and benefits and facilitate access for workers in the protection of employment social security.
Meanwhile, in terms of benefits, throughout 2023 to August 2024 BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has paid benefits of Rp 90 trillion to 7.3 million participants/experts consisting of 5 programs, namely Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Security (JKM), Old Age Security (JHT), Pension Guarantee (JP), and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP). It includes scholarship benefits that have been given to 160 thousand participants with a total value of Rp 663 billion.
From year to year this number continues to increase. Thus, more workers have experienced the benefits of protection from the state through BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Funds for the management of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan also developed along with the increasing number of participants. Anggoro said that now the amount has touched IDR 767.23 trillion. The amount of the funds managed makes BPJS Employment strive to be able to provide optimal development but with a still measurable risk.
