JAKARTA - PT Kian Santang Muliatama Tbk (RGAS) has officially signed a cooperation contract with PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) for the Gaskita Jargas Work Project in the City Gas 5 Region which covers the Semarang and Yogyakarta areas.

The contract value of the cooperation this time is IDR 29.5 billion, and this cooperation will run for the next 2 years.

After the Gaskita Jargas work project in the City Gas 5 Region, Kian Santang Muliatama is also in the process of getting a mandate from PGN to carry out work on the Gaskita Jargas project in the City Gas 2 Region, precisely in Banten Province which includes Cilegon, Serang, and Tangerang.

President Director of PT Kian Santang Muliatama Tbk Edy Nurhamid Amin revealed that this collaboration is a very important strategic step. Where, the Gaskita Jargas Work project in the City Gas 5 Region is part of the National Jargas program.

Meanwhile, Director of Infrastructure & Technology of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Harry Budi Sidarta explained that PGN believes that Kian Santang Muliatama can complete the Gaskita Jargas project in the City Gas 5 Region which has been targeted. Moreover, this collaboration can accelerate the construction of a Gas Network (Jargas) set by the Government at RPJMN by 2.5 million gas network connections, which currently reaches 1 million connections.

"Where it is hoped that this cooperation we can work together for the construction of approximately 60 kilometers, with a target of 6700 households. This target will continue to grow in line with the public's request to install household gas networks," said Hery.

Currently, PGN is also submitting a request to the Yogyakarta Regional Government (Pemda) to install a gas network for households. This is because, according to data from PGN, the potential for the use of gas networks in Yogyakarta has reached 15 thousand households.
