Knock! DPR Approves Additional Budget From The Ministry Of PUPR Rp40.59 Trillion For 2025

JAKARTA - Commission V DPR RI approved the addition of the budget of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for 2025 amounting to Rp40.59 trillion.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR received a budget allocation of IDR 75.63 trillion.

Thus, the total PUPR budget for next year will be IDR 116.23 trillion.

"Commission V DPR RI approved the adjustment of the RAPBN FY 2025 budget ceiling of the Ministry of PUPR in accordance with the results of discussions on ministry/institutional expenditures in a letter from the DPR RI Budget Agency Number B/11227/AG.05.02/09/2024 dated September 10, 2024 with an addition of Rp40,594,786,684,000," said Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lasarus in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.

Meanwhile, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that later the additional budget will be allocated to complete the construction of dams and irrigation networks and renovate damaged school infrastructure and facilities.

"So there are three nomenclatures, one for dams and irrigation of Rp. 11.9 trillion. Then, for the renovation of the infrastructure and facilities for schools that were heavily damaged, it was Rp. 19.5 trillion and for the completion of IKN development," said Basuki.

"(To) operate the buildings that have been built until now, especially in the Central Government Core Area (IKN) amounting to Rp9.19 trillion," he continued.

Even so, said Basuki, his party will further detail the budget allocation later and will be reunited in the future.

"From the budget agency (Banggar) it has been allocated Rp40.59 trillion. But that, right, we will definitely have to detail it later," he added.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR proposed an additional budget for 2025 of IDR 61.31 trillion.

As for the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN), PUPR only gets a budget of IDR 75.63 trillion.

Basuki said, in order to follow up on President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) directives, Elected President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani in a limited meeting, her ministry submitted additional proposals through the letter of the Minister of PUPR Number 725 dated August 8, 2024.

"The Ministry of PUPR has sharpened the proposed 2025 budget needs to IDR 136.95 trillion. Currently, the 2025 budget ceiling is IDR 75.63 trillion. So, it still requires a budget of IDR 61.31 trillion," Basuki said at a Working Meeting with Commission V DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 28.

He detailed that the additional priority of the budget will be used, among others, food and energy security support, namely the completion of the on going dam and the plan for a new dam.

"Building a dam. In the next five years, it is targeted to be around 50 dams," he said.

Then, the construction of tertiary networks and printed rice fields. Basuki said, based on the new Presidential Regulation (Perpres) it was the responsibility of the Ministry of PUPR.

Next, the completion of infrastructure development in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), the construction of new autonomous regional infrastructure (DOB) for Papua to the construction of flats, self-help houses, regular special houses and PSU assistance for housing and community-based infrastructure.
