Pertamina Regional Java Emphasizes HSSE Aspects At The Love Rattan Well

JAKARTA - Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Java emphasized the importance of working safety aspects in drilling the Rotan Cinta (RCI)-001 exploration well in Brebes Regency, Central Java, to support the achievement of sustainable oil and gas production targets.

"Prefer the aspects of HSSE (health, safety, security & environment) as the key to the success of operating activities in supporting the achievement of the sustainable oil and gas production target," said Regional Director of Java, Wisnu Hindadari, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 10.

For information, Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Java and PT Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI) visited the Rotan Cinta (RCI)-001 exploration well drilling site in Kubangsari Village, in Kepanjaan District, Brebes Regency, Central Java.

Present at the Management Walkthrough (MWT) activity, namely Wisnu Hindadari and PDSI Operations Director Aziz Muslim.

The MWT program is held regularly by company leaders to ensure operating activities run smoothly in accordance with established procedures and provisions and open up opportunities for two-way interaction between management and workers who are at the forefront.

Another priority aspect is also the main focus in MWT, namely ensuring the implementation of HSSE policies and programs and increasing the internalization of HSSE culture in every work activity in the field.

Meanwhile, the RCI-001 exploration well is a wildcat well, the well that is drilled for the first time to determine the presence of oil and gas in a new location.

The results of the RCI-001 Well drilling are expected to confirm hydrocarbon resources with a reservoir target in the form of sandstone formation sandstones and open up new potential (play opener) for land oil and gas development in Central Java Province.

"We hope that the Rotan Cinta exploration well can prove the potential for oil and gas resources to be taken up to 17.58 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 14.11 billion cubic feet of gas (BCFG)," said Wisnu.

During the visit, Wisnu also said that drilling the RCI-001 well was an important project for the future of national oil and gas and acted as the beginning of 3D seismic data collection or other exploration activities in Central Java.

Based on the study results, the hydrocarbon potential in the Brebes area is quite high.

In addition, it was also noted that there were many oil seepages on the surface.

According to historical traces of management, the evaluation of the potential presence of oil and gas in the Rotan Cinta area was identified through the results of the 2D seismic surveys in 1974, 1999, and 2012.

In addition, integration of geological and geophysical evaluations was also carried out from 1996 to 2023.

Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Java is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) which is engaged in upstream oil and gas business.

The Java Regional Region is tasked with coordinating operational areas under the management of oil and gas cooperation contract contractors (KKKS) including PHE ONWJ, PHE OSES, Pertamina East Natuna and Pertamina EP West Java.
