Support PON 2024, Hutama Karya Operates Sibanceh Toll Road Padang Tiji-Seulimeum Section For Free

JAKARTA - The Sigli-Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) Toll Road Section 1 Padang Tiji-Seulimeum has started operating functionally, aka free as of Sunday, September 8, 2024. This step was taken in order to support the National Sports Week (PON).

This information was conveyed by the toll operator, PT Hutama Karya (Persero). The operation will be carried out from Sunday, September 8 to Friday, September 20, at 07.00-17.00 WIB.

"Hutama Karya supports PON 2024 by opening the functional path of the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 (Padang Tiji-Seulimeum on September 8-20 2024," wrote Hutama Karya, quoted from the upload of the Instagram account @hutamakaryatollroad, Monday, September 9.

On the other hand, not all road users are allowed to cross the road. This toll road can only be passed by vehicles that support the 2024 Aceh-North Aceh XXI PON event.

"Only valid for Official PON vehicles equipped with special marking stickers from PB PON," explained Hutama Karya.

Based on data from the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR last August, the Sibanceh Section 1 Toll Road connecting Padang Tidji-Seulimeum construction will be completed this year with construction progress of 89.28 percent. The length of section 1 of this toll road reaches 24.68 kilometers (km).

The Sigli-Banda Aceh toll road is the first and only express free section in Aceh Province. This toll road can almost be fully operated. Of the total 6 toll road sections, 5 sections have been operating connecting Seulimeum to Baitussalam with a length of 48.5 km.

According to the BPJT statement from the Ministry of PUPR, this toll road can save travel time of up to 1 hour. From Seulimeum to Baitussalam the travel time is only 30 minutes from the start of 90 minutes.
