Minister Of ATR: Regional Spatial Planning In Indonesia Must Be Carried Out Seriously To Increase Economic Growth

BANDUNG - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that the arrangement of regional spaces in Indonesia must be carried out seriously.

Thus, it is hoped that Indonesia's economic growth in the future will be better.

This was conveyed by AHY in his remarks at the First International Conference on Land Registration in Indonesia on September 4-7 in Bandung, West Java.

"ATR/BPN must really seriously organize regional spaces. That is why spatial planning is one of the main agendas so that future economic growth is also more measurable," said AHY at The Trans Luxury Hotel, Bandung City, West Java, Thursday, September 5.

AHY said that currently the world is also facing a climate crisis and various challenges due to the increasing population.

He assessed that currently the condition of land in Indonesia is increasingly limited, but the need for industry and the economy is getting bigger.

"We have to guard (the spaces of the area)," he said.

According to AHY, modernization will not stop and the progress of the times will continue to move. Thus, keeping the spaces of the region really has to be done seriously.

"Although modernization will not stop and the progress of the times will continue to move, we hope that we can maintain all of this preservation and balance," he added.

The agenda for this international conference was also attended by a number of Middle High Leadership Officials and Pratama of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, representatives of the Ambassador of ASEAN countries to Indonesia, Overseas Land Institutions throughout Southeast Asia, including representatives of the Philippines' National Committee of Indigenous People (NCIP).

In addition, representatives of the Department of Agriculture Land Management (DALAM) Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos, representatives of CSO, representatives of the Office of the National Land Policy Board Thailand, and representatives of the Department of Land Thailand.
