JAKARTA - The construction of the Indonesian Vice Presidential Office (Wapres) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) has begun. The plan is that the vice president's office will use the design of 'Huma Betang Unai'.

Quoted from an upload on the official Instagram account of the Ministry of PUPR @kemenpupr, Thursday, September 5, Huma Betang Unai means a long house for mothers. In Dayak'mother' language as a protector, protector, giver and caretaker.

"It is important to remember again as part of the word capital and motherland," wrote PUPR.

The design of Beta Betang Unai or a long house is one of the best Indonesian traditional house typology and is the local wisdom of the Dayak people in Kalimantan.

"Later on, the Vice President's Office will refer to the palaces in Asia (Long House Palace, Solo Palace, Palace in India, Palace in Korea and others," explained PUPR.

The element of curviliniar feminimous ornaments that integrates vertical and horizontal elements is a unified work of space art that should be studied.

The philosophy of Huma Betang is harmony related to three things, namely honesty and high morality, equality & peace with others and respect for nature.

It is planned that the design of Beta Betang Unai will adopt the curviliniar fins, added to the pillars and beams that make the interior space more grand and make the exterior look more elegant.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that the construction of the Vice Presidential Palace in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, would begin next week.

The groundbreaking of the project is scheduled for 12 August.

"Yes (One of the Vice President's Palace will be groundbreaking)," said Basuki in Jakarta, quoted Friday, August 9.

The Acting (Plt) Head of the IKN Authority (OIKN) also explained that the construction of the Vice Presidential Palace in the archipelago is expected to be completed within one year.

"(The process) is a year, the fastest is a year," he said.
