JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) proposed an additional budget of IDR 6.14 trillion for 2025.
This was conveyed by the Minister of KP Sakti Wahyu Trenggono in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 3.
"In order to accelerate the implementation of marine and fishery development, the KKP proposes an additional budget for 2025 of IDR 6.14 trillion," said Trenggono.
Trenggono explained that the budget will be used to run 7 main KKP programs next year.
First, for the development of aquaculture, which is integrated upstream to downstream based on the economy, to achieve food self-sufficiency as well as a sustainable industry and the provision of nutritious food of IDR 1.98 trillion.
The second is for the development of measurable fishing which is integrated upstream downstream to support water resources (SDA) and the maritime industry worth IDR 565 billion.
Third, namely for logistics systems, cold chain systems and strengthening quality guarantees to support downstreaming and industrialization of fisheries worth IDR 696.6 billion
The fourth is for surveillance and maintenance operations of the PSDKP fleet to eradicate IUU fishing and smuggling lobster clear seeds (BBL) in order to support a blue economy worth IDR 1.01 billion.
Fifth, the additional budget will be used for spatial planning, expansion of conservation areas and management of small islands to ensure the sustainability of fish stocks, marine health and environmental sustainability of Rp896.7 billion.
Sixth, namely for the construction of fishing villages/modern power bodies to increase community productivity, economic equality and poverty alleviation and create jobs worth IDR 660 billion
Seventh or last, namely to improve the quality of marine and fishery human resources (HR) to support downstreaming and industrialization of IDR 353.1 billion.
"The additional budget will be used for the implementation of the blue economy, assistance to the fisheries stakeholder community, national food security, providing nutritious and quality food for the community, strengthening illegal fishing supervision and prevention as well as developing fishing villages or modern cultivation to increase community productivity, economic equity and poverty recognition and create jobs," explained Trenggono.
