Calls For Indofarma Employees Haven't Been Paid For 8 Months: We're For Hard Food

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) plans to sell assets owned by PT Indofarma Tbk (INAF) to fulfill obligations to employees. Currently, it is still in the stage of mapping the assets owned by Indofarma.

Responding to the plan, the General Chair of the Workers' Union (SP) PT Indofarma Tbk (INAF) Meidawati said that the asset sales process requires a long process.

Meanwhile, employees who are not fulfilled their rights from January to August 2024 need a salary to meet their daily needs.

"Talking about the sale of these assets is not easy, and it needs a process. Meanwhile, we are at the lowest point, when the salary is not full, it doesn't pay off. While there are many things that need to be taken care of, just to eat is already difficult," Meidawati told reporters at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, written Tuesday, September 3.

According to Meidawati, if Indofarma can ensure that asset sales are completed quickly, then there will be no problem. However, if it takes a long time, Meidawati hopes that the government will intervene to pay for the rights of Indofarma employees.

"If this government pays special attention, we also don't know. But we hope to talk about our rights, the first can be paid. The second salary can be normalized, meaning that until now from the beginning of the year we have not received a full salary. And those who have retired have not been paid for almost two years, "said Meidawati.

Meidawati revealed that 1,100 Indofarma employees had not received full salaries since the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, there are around 400 former employees who do not receive severance pay, pension, and compensation for death.

50 to 90 percent is what was received from January to August. Until this date September is also not paid. This means that from January to September we do not receive full salaries. There are also unpaid allowances," he explained.

Previously, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the settlement of PT Indofarma Tbk's (INAF) obligations to employees would be fulfilled from selling assets.

Based on information collected by the Indofarma Workers Union (SP Indofarma), there are employee rights that are in arrears of Rp95 billion. This figure includes obligations to Indofarma employees amounting to Rp65 billion and Indofarma Global Medika (IGM) worth Rp30 billion.

"Later, our employees will provide asset sales that we will sell in stages to resolve personnel issues in order to get efficient in the future," he said in a Working Meeting with Commission VI of the DPR RI, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, September 2.
