Amran Calls FAO Seeing The Extraordinary Potential Of The Republic Of Indonesia From The Porgram Eating Nutrition

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman assessed that the World Food Agency (Food and Agriculture Organization/FAO) saw the extraordinary potential of the free nutritious food program (MBG). Where the program was initiated by the President and Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Agriculture after the Director General of FAO Qu Dongyu handed over the highest award in the food sector to President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday.

"He sees Indonesia's extraordinary potential, that's what he sees. He said God willing, in the future this could be better than now. That's what FAO said," said the Minister of Agriculture quoting Antara.

When asked further about the free nutritious food program with FAO, Minister Amran said the discussion had been carried out implicitly.

Therefore, the Minister of Agriculture is focused on encouraging food farming, both horticultural plants, plantations, livestock, and fisheries to make the nutritious food program a success for free.

On the other hand, the Minister of Agriculture added that FAO does not provide special notes for the free nutritious food program that will be run in the next government.

"Thank God, no (there is a note)," he said.

On the previous occasion, the Minister of Agriculture said the Ministry of Agriculture was ready to provide full support for the free nutritious eating program planned by the new government in 2024-2029.

Amran conveyed that this support includes efforts to increase meat production and cooperation with major entrepreneurs for the downstream process.

"This preparation includes increasing meat production and the downstream process in collaboration with big entrepreneurs," he said.

According to him, the involvement of entrepreneurs is also very important to accelerate the implementation of programs that the president of choice wants.

Even so, he hopes that there will be an additional budget for the Ministry of Agriculture of IDR 68 trillion.
