JAKARTA - The development of the digital economy ecosystem is a crucial effort that must be supported by cross-sectoral collaboration, especially in creating sustainable local entrepreneurs.

In order to make this happen, the government through the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) cooperates with Lazada Indonesia and the Above Hand Community (TDA) to hold a Go Digital (JAGO) training aimed at trans-industrial MSME players.

This series of training aims to provide comprehensive education about the use of the digital ecosystem in business development and to strive for business actors to reach a large market.

Director of Domestic Product Use and Marketing at the Ministry of Trade Krisna Ariza said JAGO is an intensification of the digital literacy program implemented by the Ministry of Trade by not only focusing on product marketing, but also increasing the ability of business actors.

"So, in the future, it is hoped that the marketing program that is run independently can be more mature, creating quality products that are even able to penetrate the export market," he said in a written statement, Wednesday, August 28.

Krisna said that in the future there will be several training series. Starting from training, it focuses on creating marketing content, followed by business management, product packaging, consumer services to market expansion opportunities.

"We understand that qualified digital skills are one of the challenges for local MSMEs to develop their business," he said.

Lazada Indonesia as one of the main players in the Indonesian online market also supports it by providing market access for business actors.

Vice President of Government Affairs Lazada Indonesia Budi Primawan said that this collaboration shows that the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as increasing the use and marketing of local products requires an inclusive and participatory approach.

By involving online market players who have a wide reach and direct access to consumers, Budi hopes that this initiative will be able to accelerate the digital adaptation of MSMEs, expand their market share and eventually increase the competitiveness of local products in the domestic and international market.

"JAGO's training is not just a learning activity, but a strategic initiative that aims to help encourage the strengthening and capacity of Indonesian entrepreneurs. Not only good products, but also strong brands. This is in line with Lazada's mission to help accelerate economic growth in Indonesia through optimizing trade and technology," he explained.

He considered that Lazada was committed to continuing to help advance the digital economy ecosystem in Indonesia and creating new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

"We hope that Indonesia's digital economy growth will continue to grow rapidly and be more inclusive," he added.

This program was attended by more than 1,000 MSMEs who registered, with the final results in the form of 250 selected MSMEs to participate in the training program. Selection is carried out by considering various assessment variables, including business performance, adaptability to digital technology to potential business expansion.
