Can Be A World Aviation Market, Luhut Calls Environmentally Friendly Avtur A Solution

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that Indonesia is projected to become the fourth largest aviation market in the world.

This is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) which states that Indonesia can control the aviation market with the number of airplane users in Indonesia which is estimated to increase to 390 million in 2037.

"The data I got from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) states that Indonesia is projected to become the fourth largest aviation market in the world in 2037 with 390 million passengers," Luhut said on his personal Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan, quoted Monday, August 26.

Luhut continued, Indonesia plans to officially launch the Roadmap and National Action Plan on the Development of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) Ecosystem or Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

"This will ensure added economic value for the country, maintain energy security in the air transportation sector, and contribute to Indonesia's commitment to decarbonization," Luhut continued.

Meanwhile, said Luhut, this action is planned to be launched at the Bali International Air Show (BIAS) 2024.

In addition, he said, the government is also making a special program to invite the commitment of aviation stakeholders on the issue of Environment, Social, Governance (ESG), which among others is shown through concrete humanitarian actions between BIAS and CARE Indonesia in East Nusa Tenggara.

Luhut also explained that in the event various prominent companies had ensured their participation in this event, such as Airbus, Bell Helicopters, Boeing, and others.

Later, as many as 6000 trade visitors from 35 countries, will also enliven BIAS 2024 which will be held on 18-21 September.

"Representatives of the government from regional countries, and not to forget some ministers of friendly countries have also confirmed their presence at this event," concluded Luhut.
