JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has raised the tariff for the Sigli - Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) toll road section 2-4 or Seulimuem-Blang Bintang and has set a tariff for Section 5-6 or Blang Bintang-Baitussalam which has been operating but without tariffs.

"For immediate implementation," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 22.

He explained that the determination of the new Sibanceh Toll Road was following the issuance of a decree from the Minister of PUPR on August 9, 2024 regarding the adjustment of the Sigli Banda Aceh toll tariff for Seulimeum-Blang Bintang section and the determination of tariffs for the Blang Bintang-Baitussalam section.

Responding to the tariff increase, said Adjib, his party intensively conducted socialization to the public through various promotional channels online to offline such as banners and billboards along toll roads.

On Monday (19/8), he continued, Hutama Karya also held a systematic discussion with the Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S Atmawidjaja, Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs Arya M Sinulingga, Lecturer for Economic Development at Syiah Kuala University (USK) Muhammad Nasir, and other elements related to tariff adjustments.

"We also receive input and suggestions from participants by considering various aspects, especially the interests of toll road users and toll road business entities," he said.

Hutama Karya said the Sibanceh Toll Road section of Seulimuem - Blang Bintang has been operating since 2020 and has begun to set a tariff in March 2021.

Meanwhile, the Sibanceh Toll Road section of Blang Bintang - Baitussalam, has been operating without tariffs since June 2023, with the enthusiasm of toll road users which is quite high, with a total volume of vehicles passing to hundreds of thousands of vehicles.

One of them is the new tariff, such as the Seulimuem - Jantho section section toll road, initially Rp7,500 for class one vehicles, up to Rp8,500 per vehicle. Then for class two, from Rp11,500 it rose to Rp12,500, and for class three from Rp15.000 it rose to Rp17.000 per vehicle.

Meanwhile, USK Development Economic Lecturer Dr Muhammad Nasir MA assessed that the current tariff rate of 12 percent from the previous tariff was still normal. Moreover, the Sibanceh Toll Road is still in initial operation.

"The amount of adjustments is still quitelerable, especially since the Sibanceh Toll Road is still in its initial operation where operational costs are still high and traffic is still low, so it is still within reasonable limits," said Nasir.
