Erick Thohir's Subordinates: BUMD And BUMN Stand Not As Competitors!

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs, Rabin Hattari, said that State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) have an important role in Indonesia's development. Both, he said, were present to work together to build Indonesia, not as competitors.

"BUMD and BUMN are not established as competitors, but we are strategic partners who work hand in hand to realize Indonesia's vision of progress," he said at the signing of BUMN and BUMD Cooperation, at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Juang Building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 22.

Rabin even likens SOEs and BUMDs to two sides of an inseparable and complementary currency.

"If you say we are like two sides of the currency, yes, complement each other or a solid team with their respective roles and strengths," he said.

Rabin explained that SOEs with great national reach and resources act as locomotives of development. He said SOEs succeeded in building toll roads that connect islands, building power plants that illuminate all corners of Indonesia and also building industries that move the wheels of the economy.

Meanwhile, he continued, BUMD with an in-depth understanding of regional potential and needs acts as the spearhead of regional development.

"They manage natural resources wisely, develop unique tourism potential and empower local communities through national programs," he explained.

Rabin said the cooperation between BUMN and BUMD was already underway. For example, between PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN, Semen Indonesia, and MIND ID group with BUMD. He said this collaboration had a positive impact on society.

"This synergy and cooperation between us and BUMD is not just a slogan, but the action is real, it has been seen and has a direct impact on society," he said.

For your information, this event also includes the signing of a cooperation between BUMN and BUMD in the mining and waste processing sector. The implementation of this collaboration is supervised by the KPK.

Rabin explained that the involvement of the KPK was to ensure that all forms of cooperation carried out by BUMN and BUMD were carried out transparently and accountably.

"Through this agreement, we at the Ministry of SOEs show our commitment to develop Indonesia from regions with BUMD, with the local government as business partners and the KPK as the referee," he explained.
