The Ministry Of PUPR Allocates IDR 350 Billion For Renovation Of Wisma Atlet Kemayoran

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will allocate a budget of IDR 350 billion for the renovation of Wisma Atlet in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

This was conveyed by the Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, when met after the Merdeka Festival at the PUPR Ministry Park, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.

"Yes, (the budget) was allocated around Rp. 350 billion," said Iwan.

Iwan said the renovation target would be completed within the next 6 months. "At least 6 months (completed)," he said.

When asked further about Wisma Atlet being converted into an ASN flat, Iwan did not deny it.

"It's still a function of flats, but maybe it's part of the flats and the main thing for ASN flats, yes. Some of them will have the prospect of being commercialized in order to finance operations from that area," said Basuki.

He added that when the renovation of the Wisma Atlet has been completed, it will have temporary status as a simple rented flat or flat.

"In the meantime, the rusunawa, yes, the system is rented but later there will be a pricing from the government," he continued.

Furthermore, said Iwan, the pricing will wait for the issuance of a presidential regulation (Perpres). "Yes, wait for the Presidential Decree first," explained Basuki.

Previously, the Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah said that his party had received an assignment to renovate it to return the function of Wisma Atlet to its original state.

The reason is, during the pandemic the building was used as a COVID-19 emergency hospital.

"So, of course there are emergency hospitals that need to be used (then) there are abrasions or something, like that. We will return to normal," said Zainal when met at the PUPR Ministry Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 14.
