PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) signed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (PJBG) with Pertamina EP Cepu for gas supply from the Cepu Block and PJBG Amendment with Saka Energi Muriah Ltd for gas supply from Blok Muriah.

The signing was held at the IOG Supply Chain & National Capacity Summit 2024 (IOG SCM Summit) at the Jakarta Convention Center, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 by the Director of Strategy and Business Development Rosa Permata Sar.i

Rosa said the oil and gas (oil and gas) industry is very important for the economy, so it is necessary to explore the available sources/supply to maximize development growth.

"With the PJBG from the Cepu Block, PGN will continue to manage the Lamongan household gas network (jargas) which previously received gas supply from Madura Offshore, switching to be distributed from Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB)," said Rosa, quoted Thursday, August 15.

The volume of gas distributed is 0.2 MMSCFD until 2029 or until the end of natural gas production in JTB Field.

Furthermore, through the PJBG amendment from Blok Muriah, PGN also obtained an agreement to increase the number of contract volumes by 5,000 BBTU from Kepodang Field, Muriah Working Area (WK).

Thus, the total number of contracts is 19,000 BBTU. The allocation and utilization of natural gas from the Kepodang Field were then distributed by PGN to meet the needs of the electricity sector and domestic industry.

"PGN is enthusiastic about continuing to increase the number of customers, so that the additional volume obtained will play a role for PGN for the development of natural gas services and accessibility, especially in Central Java and East Java," added Rosa.

Currently, the number of PGN customers in Central Java and East Java is 160,000 customers, including households, small customers, commercial, industrial and electricity. It is hoped that people who use natural gas will increase.

Through the signing of the two PJBGs, it is hoped that it can spur PGN to increase market reach. The use of domestic supply sources from Cepu and Muriah is intended for domestic gas users in the household, industry and electricity sectors. It is hoped that the added value of natural gas can be utilized optimally by each sector," concluded Rosa.
