Bank Muamalat Records QRIS Transaction Volume Reaches IDR 246 Billion As Of June 2024

JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk recorded that the volume of QRIS transactions through the mobile banking application Muamalat DIN as of June 2024 reached more than Rp246 billion or grew by around 160 percent on an annual basis (year on year/YoY).

The number of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) transactions until June 2024 reached 1.3 million, an increase of almost three times compared to the same period last year.

Bank Muamalat SEVP Retail Banking Dedy Suryadi Dharmawan, in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 13, conveyed that the volume and rapidly increasing number of transactions showed that more customers used QRIS Muamalat to make payments.

"This figure is in line with the data on the Muamalat DIN retention rate which has doubled, which means that Bank Muamalat customers are more comfortable and comfortable using Muamalat DIN, including the use of the QRIS feature," said Dedy, quoted from Antara.

The company also noted the growth in the number of merchants who received QRIS Muamalat payments. As of June 2024, the number of QRIS Muamalat merchants was recorded at 12,255, an increase of 65 percent YoY.

For information, QRIS acquisition Muamalat was first launched in January 2022. This service is offered to Bank Muamalat customers who have businesses and meet the requirements as a QRIS merchant. Customers are then equipped with MMA applications that can be downloaded in Playstore and Appstore app stores to manage transactions.

In addition to the merchants, QRIS Acquirer Bank Muamalat services can also be used for payment of donations and payment transactions in various agencies such as schools, mosques, donation institutions, and hospitals.

In order to welcome the 2024 National QRIS Week (PQN), Bank Muamalat has carried out pre-PQN activities including participating in the 2024 Indonesian Digital Financial Economy Festival and Indonesian Creative Works (FEKDI x KKI).

At the event, Bank Muamalat conducted socialization on the use of QRIS in Muamalat DIN to visitors. In addition, Bank Muamalat will also hold an independence bazaar involving MSME players who are also QRIS merchants of Bank Muamalat.
