Water Management Education, Mind ID Makes Replica A Stairs Dam At 2nd LIKE

JAKARTA - BUMN Mining Industry Indonesia (Mind ID) provides public education regarding water management as an energy source by presenting a replica of the Asahan Riverhold Dam at the 2nd Environmental, Climate, Forestry, and New Renewable Energy Festival (LIKE).

"We hope that this event will become a forum for the public to know and feel firsthand the nuances of the Asahan River from the booth experience that we present," said Corporate Secretary of Mind ID Heri Yusuf in a statement to the media, Friday, August 9.

Heri continued, the river that connects Lake Toba with the Malacca Strait is one of the energy sources for PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Inalum).

Booth Mind ID, he said, displayed the face of the Tangga Dam in North Sumatra which is one of three Inalum's hydroelectric power plants (PLTA) in the Asahan River.

PLTA Tangga has four generators with a total electricity capacity generated reaching 223 megawatts (MW).

In addition to being one of the sources of hydroelectric power plants, he continued, the existence of the Tangga Dam is also intended to maintain biodiversity around the river.

"This includes supporting the economic turnover of the community by producing world-class arung tours," said Heri.

Heri conveyed that Mind ID utilizes the momentum of the LIKE 2 KLHK Festival to show that water has an important role in the production process and support for the Mind ID Group, thus requiring a utilization program while still being able to ensure good water efficiency.

In addition, he continued, Mind ID also strives to increase the reuse of water in the production and supporting processes, as well as ensure the quality of water flowed to water bodies in accordance with applicable quality standards.

Heri said the public could take a closer look at the Mind ID Group water management program at the Environment, Climate, Forestry and New Renewable Energy Festival (LIKE) 2 held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).

"This festival will be held again on August 8, 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center Hall A & B, Central Jakarta," concluded Heri.
