Jokowi's Room in IKN is Ready, Minister Basuki: Hopefully Sleep Well

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono conveyed the latest progress on the construction of the Garuda Palace in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

Basuki said that various facilities to support the August 17 Ceremony at IKN were ready, such as water, electricity and air conditioning. Likewise with the cabinet meeting room which Jokowi plans to use to hold a meeting at the Garuda Palace.

"Including his (Joko Widodo) bedroom. Hopefully it will be good," Basuki told reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, August 8.

Apart from the Garuda Palace, Basuki also said that the State Palace was also ready to be used when the President held a session there. The man who is also the Acting Head of OIKN said that only a few furniture had just arrived today and would soon be installed.

"There are only a few furniture that just arrived today, tomorrow it will be installed," he said.

Previously, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno said that the plenary cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet in the capital city of the archipelago, would discuss, among other things, the transition of government.

"The plenary cabinet session will usually discuss more general matters, as is the usual plenary cabinet meeting," said Pratikno when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 6.

Pratikno explained that all ministers would be invited to attend the plenary cabinet session which will take place at the IKN Presidential Palace on Monday, August 12, 2024.

According to him, the discussion at the trial will include the evaluation of the government in 2024, especially in the last year of President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's term.

In addition, this session will also discuss planning for next year, including the transition of government to the elected president Prabowo Subianto and elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
