Towards The End Of Office, Erick Thohir Reports 92 Percent Of Strategic Projects From The Ministry Of SOEs Completed

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that his party had completed 92 percent or 81 strategic projects out of 88 projects assigned to the Ministry of SOEs.

Erick conveyed this during a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR RI as the final working report of the Ministry of SOEs. As is known, the Jokowi-Ma'ruf work cabinet will end on October 20.

"Of the 88 Strategic Projects of the Ministry of SOEs, we have completed 92 percent or 81 projects have been completed," Erick said as quoted from Instagram @erickthohir, Monday, August 5.

Erick also revealed that BUMN's revenue increased from IDR 1,930 trillion in 2020 to 2023 of IDR 2,933 trillion. With a total net profit of IDR 13 trillion in 2020, it rose to IDR 327 trillion in 2023.

"The assets owned by the Ministry of SOEs also increased from IDR 8,312 trillion in 2020 to IDR 10,402 trillion in 2023," said Erick.

On that occasion, Erick also thanked the stakeholders involved, including the DPR to the relevant ministries. Erick said they had become part of the BUMN ecosystem.

I would like to thank all stakeholders. Starting from members of the DPR, related ministers, private parties, foreign partners and MSMEs who have become part of the BUMN ecosystem.

88 Startistic Projects Of The Ministry Of SOEs Will Not Be Completed In All

Previously reported, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir bluntly admitted that there was one BUMN strategic project out of 88 projects that would likely not be completed at the end of his term of office in October 2024.

But unfortunately, Erick did not explain more deeply what problems had occurred so that one project could potentially not be completed. He only said that there were dynamics that occurred.

"Alhamdulillah, from the target of 88 projects, God willing, 87 will be done. Maybe one missed, because this is not because of the situation that occurred in the dynamics, but later I will report it maybe at the end of October alone," he said when met at TMII, East Jakarta, Sunday, May 5.

Erick also detailed that the total projects that have been completed and inaugurated to date are 82 projects. That way, there are still six projects left in the completion process. However, one project cannot be completed in October 2024.

"So from 88 (BUMN strategic projects) it has been 82 (completed). There are still 6 (unfinished). However, there is one that is quite difficult to complete," he said.

According to Erick, it is natural that he cannot 100 percent complete the entire project. He also joked that perfection only belongs to God Almighty.

"But yes, it is impossible for us to complete a 100 percent job, perfect belonging to Allah," he explained.
