Observer: Construction Of Elevated Trains In Peak Areas Needs To Be Supported By The Availability Of Mass Transportation

JAKARTA - Infrastructure and city planning observer from Trisakti University Yayat Supriatna revealed that the discourse on the construction of a skytrain or elevated train in the Puncak tourist area, Bogor Regency, West Java, also needs to be supported by the provision of mass transportation.

Yayat in Cibinong, Friday, August 2, assessed that the concept of an elevated train connecting tourist destinations in the Puncak area is good, as implemented by several other countries.

"Skytrain is part of a tour in the Puncak tea plantation area. Like in other world tourism areas," Yayat said, quoted from Antara.

However, according to him, mass transportation facilities are needed to make it easier for the public to access flyovers, considering that the stop point was originally in the Gunung Mas Rest Area.

The mass transportation, he said, could be in the form of buses that can be connected from the Sentul City area to the Gunung Mas Rest Area.

"So when people want to go there, take a bus. It could be Trans Jakarta in collaboration with Bogor Regency. That's interesting, let's go to Puncak but don't bring private vehicles," said Yayat.

The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, proposed to the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) to build public transportation in the form of an elevated train or skytrain in the Puncak tourist area.

Head of the Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappedalitbang) of Bogor Regency, Ajat Rohmat Jatnika, explained that the construction of this skytrain is to complete the arrangement of the Puncak tourist area, which is currently being intensively carried out by the Bogor Regency Government.

"That is the recommendation of the Regency Government that was presented earlier. So that all tours in Puncak, especially upstream areas, are connected to each other," said Ajat.

The Bogor Regency Government has even compiled a concept for providing skytrains with six connecting stop stations from the Gunung Mas Rest Area to Puncak Pass on the border of Bogor Regency with Cianjur Regency.

The starting point of the skytrain station is in the parking area of the Gunung Mas bus, the second in the area of the Mount Mas Rest Area, the third at Pakis Hill, the fourth at Pinus Forest, the fifth at Bukit Sumbul, and finally Puncak Pass.(KR-MFS).
