BI: BSPI 2030 Focuses On Innovation To Digital Rupiah

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) said the 2030 Blueprint Indonesian Payment System (BSPI) focuses on strengthening infrastructure, innovation to digital rupiah.

"We must continue the 2019-2025 BSPI to 2030. There are five initiatives that are abbreviated as 4I-RD, namely infrastructure, industry, innovation, international, and digital rupiah," said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo in a talk on BSPI 2030 in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday 2 August.

Perry said the 2030 BSPI carried five initiatives as a follow-up to the 2030 BSPI Vision, namely infrastructure, industry, innovation, international, and digital rupiah, or abbreviated as 4I-RD.

In the infrastructure initiative, infrastructure modernization is carried out to further increase convenience and convenience for the community in transacting through digital payment systems.

"We continue to modernize retail infrastructure, namely BI-FAST, of course we have to collaborate later we will build, also invitate the retail payment industry so that it is truly together with the policy maker Bank Indonesia," he said.

Industrial initiatives related to structural consolidation through access and entry policy arrangement according to the perpetrator's risk profile, strengthening risk management, and regulatory reform.

Meanwhile, innovation initiatives are oriented towards efforts to ensure a balance between innovation and consumer protection, integrity and stability and collaborative healthy business competition.

Meanwhile, international initiatives are directed at expanding payments connectivity between countries by maintaining national interests through expanding the scope of QRIS cooperation between countries and interconnecting retail and wholesale payment systems.

Rupiah Digital is oriented towards strengthening capabilities through digital securities experimentation for various cases of use in financial markets.

"Let's consolidate our industry. Digital banking remains a center but interlinks with non-banks whether membership or others but must be onboard according to management capabilities, digital technology, as well as the capability of human resources," he said.
