Speed Exploration, Elnusa Performs Seismic Activities From Rokan To Seram

PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa) carried out seismic activities for many oil and gas exploration activities in Indonesia in 2024, ranging from Rokan Hilir, Karawang, Bone, to Eastern Seram.

It has been noted that since 1986, Elnusa has been working on various seismic activities for oil and gas exploration, ranging from the Land Sesmic Survey, Shallow Water and Transition Zone Seismic Survey, Marine Seismic Survey to Marine Geophysical & Geotechnical Survey.

President Director of Elnusa, Bachtiar Soeria Atmadja said Elnusa had a long experience in carrying out seismic survey activities. Not only in Indonesia, Elnusa has also penetrated various countries such as Brunei, Myanmar, Vietnam, to India

Bachtiar revealed that for 2024, Elnusa also continues to actively support seismic activities in various Oil and Gas Working Areas (WK) throughout Indonesia.

He detailed that there were several 3D seismic projects carried out by Elnusa in 2024, such as 3D Balam Southeast land seismic activities in Rokan Hilir, Riau; acquisition of 3D Kepuh seismic data in Karawang, West Java; to the 3D Offshore Bone seismic survey in Bone Regency and Wajo Regency in South Sulawesi and Southeast (SE) Seram in the waters of East Seram Regency, Maluku.

Elnusa's activities are quite diverse for seismic activities in 2024, namely 3D seismic activities in onshore and offshore areas. The location is quite scattered from Sumatra, Java, to marine waters in South Sulawesi and Maluku. This shows the strong competence of Elnusa for all fields and areas in the seismic field," Bachtiar said, Friday, August 2.

For 3D Balam Southeast land seismic activity, seismic work has started in 2023 and was successfully completed on April 4, 2024. Of the approximately 16,742 shooting points in an area of 303 km2 in three sub-districts and 12 villages in Rokan Hilir Regency, 3D seismic activity can be completed properly without any accidents with 1,453,520 Man Hours of safe working hours.

From Karawang, Elnusa has also completed the acquisition of 3D Kepuh seismic data for PT Pertamina EP Zone 7 on March 23, 2024, aka six months earlier than the set target.

Elnusa was able to complete the 3D seismic data acquisition work with 25,356 shooting points in an area of 501 km2 covering 19 sub-districts and 131 villages in Karawang Regency with safe working hours reaching 1,759,900 Man Hours.

Towards the eastern region of Indonesia, at the end of June 2024, Elnusa also successfully completed the 3D Offshore Bone and SE Seram seismic survey activities. Seismic survey activities which are part of PHE Jambi's Past Work Commitment (KKP) Merang in this open area use the Seismic Vessel survey ship HYSY 760 and four support ships.

"Seismic surveys are carried out using the 3D Marine Streamer Broadband seismic acquisition method using a 4x8,500-meter marine streamer," he said.

It was noted that the 3D Bone seismic survey covering an area of 821 km2 in the sea waters of Bone Regency was able to be completed within 26 days or 11 days faster than the set target. Meanwhile, the 3D SE Seram survey in the sea waters of Eastern Seram Regency with an area of 700 km2 can be completed in 59 days or 15 days faster than the target.

The 3D Bone and SE Seram seismic survey project is very important to open new areas for oil and gas exploration activities in eastern Indonesia, which still have enormous potential. Elnusa is certainly very proud to be able to take part in the search for the potential for oil and gas resources," he concluded.
