RMKE Ambles 37 Percent Net Profit To IDR 126.1 Billion In Semester I 2024

JAKARTA - PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) recorded a net profit of IDR 126.18 billion in the first half of 2024. This number decreased by 37.08 percent from the same period the previous year which was recorded at IDR 200.56 billion.

In terms of defense, RMKE also recorded a decrease in revenue from the previous Rp1.28 trillion in the first semester of 2023 to Rp1.23 trillion in the first semester of 2024.

However, RMKE emphasized that it managed to increase operating income which grew 25.3 percent in the second quarter of 2024 and was able to minimize the impact of declining revenue due to extreme weather in the previous quarter.

As of June 2024, RMKE posted operating revenues of IDR 1.2 trillion which were obtained from the sales segment of 75.6 percent and coal services of 24.4 percent.

The increase in operating income in the second quarter of 2024 was supported by an increase in the volume and selling price of coal, which increased by 7.9 percent yoy and 4.0 percent yoy, respectively.

In addition to the growth in coal sales volume, the volume of coal transportation services also increased by 10.7 percent yoy and had reached its highest monthly volume in June 2024.

President Director of the Company, Vincent Saputra, said that with the increasingly friendly weather conditions in the second half of this year, the volume of the RMKE coal service and sales segment will continue to increase significantly.

Operating performance in the second quarter of 2024 was very positive, especially in June 2024 and reached its highest volume during the RMKE operation.

To maintain this good performance, we are also expanding into Jambi. RMKE has acquired 3 mines in Jambi, and this is a form of implementation of the RMKE strategy to diversify its operational geographic area by looking at opportunities outside South Sumatra," Vincent said, Thursday, August 1.

According to him, Jambi still has a great opportunity to optimize coal production through more integrated infrastructure development.

"Similar to the obstacles in South Sumatra, RMKE is present as a coal logistics solution with more integrated facilities to optimize production volume," explained Vincent.
