Already Conducting Studies, PP Persis Express Accepting Mining Managed Offers From The Government

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the PP Islamic Unity (Persis) Jeje Zainudin admitted that he had received an offer from the government to manage mines.

"It's true (it will manage the mine). Since two months ago our team at PP Persis has conducted a study," Jeje said when contacted on Tuesday, July 30.

In fact, he said, in the Meeting of the Advisory Council and the Plenary Session of the Hisbah Council (Persis PP Fatwa Council) which was held from 2 to 3 July 2024 had also given recommendations.

Jeje emphasized that his party had prepared all the requirements and procedures needed to be able to manage the mines offered by the government.

"We have decided to accept this mining business offer. God willing, this week the team is preparing all the requirements and procedures needed, then scheduling an audience with the government to ensure what must be met as a condition of submission, and which areas are available and potential from the mining," explained Jeje.

Just so you know, PP Persis is the third religious community organization to accept the government's offer to manage mines.

Previously, Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah had already received an offer for mining management.

The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board became the first religious mass organization to ask for mining permits from the government.

PBNU received a share to manage the former mining area of PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

The government has prepared as many as six mining lands for the former Coal Mining Entrepreneurs' Labor Agreement (PKP2B) to religious organizations.

The mining land consists of former PKP2B PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), PT Arutmin Indonesia, PT Kendilo Coal Indonesia, PT Adaro Energy Tbk, PT Multi Harapan Utama (MAU), and PT Kideco Jaya Agung.
