The autonomous train or Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) will pave its first in the National Capital Nusantara (IKN) area during the trial phase, Monday, August 5.
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said there would be two transits consisting of three trains.
"Each of the three trains will rotate from the National Axis, West Sumbu, East Sumbu, around with a 5-minute headway," said Minister of Transportation Budi quoting Antara.
He said the railway facilities or rolling stock for the ART train are currently available in Balikpapan City.
According to the Minister of Transportation, the cooperation scheme that will be carried out between the government and the Chinese State-Owned Enterprises CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co Ltd and Norinco, as the provider of this ART Train. They will provide free services during August to December 2024 to service users.
