Progress Of Dam Construction Jlantah And Jragung Capai 86 Percent

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk announced that the progress of the construction of the Jlantah and Jragung Dams in Central Java has reached 86.09 percent.

The 70 meter high dam from the deepest foundation and 404 meters long has a capacity of 10.97 cubic meters, it is believed that the existence of this dam can bring many benefits.

"One of the benefits is supplying raw water needs of 150 liters per second (l/dt) for Jumapolo District, Jumantono District, Jatipuro District, Karanganyar Regency," said President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk Muhammad Hanugrohoa as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 26.

The next benefit, he continued, was as irrigation or irrigated 1,494 hectares (ha) of rice fields in Jatiyoso and Jumapolo sub-districts, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java.

He said the Jlantah Dam was able to reduce flooding to 70.33 cubic meters per second (m3/dt) with a volume of 1.436 million cubic meters.

He explained that the dam has the potential to be a Micro Hydro Power Plant, with 625 kilowatts (kw).

"Seeing the strategic location between the Jlantah River and the Puru River in Tlobo and Karangsari Villages, this dam can also become a tourist attraction. There is an opportunity to develop tourism and agrotourism," he said.

Oho as he is familiarly called said, unlike Jlantah, the progress of the Jragung Dam construction has touched almost 50 percent, until next month the realization is targeted to reach 58 percent.

It was stated that the dam in Semarang Regency would supply raw water needs in several areas in Central Java covering 500 l/dt for Semarang, 250 l/dt to Demak, and 250 l/dt for Grobogan.

Then it is useful to supply irrigation water in rice fields covering an area of 4,528 ha.

"The Jragung Dam has the potential to be a hydro Micro Power Plant with a capacity of 1,400 kw and has the opportunity to also be developed into agro-tourism," he explained.

For information, the two dams above are part of the National Strategic Project (PSN).

The total contract value of the Bank Dam is IDR 956 billion, while Jragung is worth IDR 2.3 trillion.

Waskita Karya as a contractor ensures that the work on the two projects can be completed on time.

Previously, there had been 64 PSNs whose construction was successfully completed by the company.
