Office Of The Directorate General Of Mineral And Coal Searched, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Opens Voice

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has opened its voice regarding the search conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Wednesday, July 24.

This search is related to the alleged money laundering case (TPPU) of the former Governor of North Maluku (Malut), Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK).

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Head of the KLIK Bureau, Agus Cahyono Adi, confirmed that currently searches are still ongoing.

"Currently, the search for the necessary evidence is still ongoing, we continue to support the KPK and other APH in law enforcement in the ESDM sector," Agus said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday.

Previously, it was reported that the KPK searched the office of the Directorate General of Mineral and Mineral Resources today, Wednesday, July 24.

This forced effort was carried out in connection with allegations of corruption and money laundering (TPPU) that ensnared the inactive Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK).

"We convey that today, July 24, 2024, there is a search activity at the Office of the Directorate General of Mineral and Mineral Resources, Tebet, South Jakarta," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters, Wednesday, July 24.

Tessa said investigators were still working on a search. So there is not much information he can convey.

The KPK has named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU).

From some of the evidence obtained, he is suspected of washing up to Rp100 billion.

The determination of the suspect was carried out as a development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as granting permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government.

He has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).
