PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) in collaboration with the Central Halmahera Regency Government to build clean water treatment installations in the form of Water Intake and Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in a number of areas in Central Weda District, Central Halmahera Regency.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, represented by Ikram Malam Sangaji as the Regent of Central Halmahera Regency and Kevin HE Xiaozhen as the Director of PT WBN.

This project is part of PT WBN's commitment to meet clean water needs in Central Halmahera Regency, precisely in Sawai Village Area, Waibulan Village, Lokuman Village, Woekob Village, Woejerana Village, Kulo Jaya Village, and its surroundings.

The construction of this facility is a manifestation of the active participation of PT WBN in supporting the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) in the supporting infrastructure sector through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

With the start of this clean water treatment plant construction project, PT WBN continues to show its commitment to supporting sustainable development and community empowerment in Central Halmahera.

Water Intake and WTP will later supply 15,000 cubic meters per day for the surrounding community. The company is known to be responsible for costs and all technical aspects, ranging from Detailed Engineering Design (DED), development, to commissioning and handover.
