JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) Transmission and System Planning Director Evy Haryadi who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Electricity Society said the Electricity Connect event helped prepare for the transition to nuclear energy through various discussions held.

"Later there will be industry, there will be associations who are invited, later in seminars, one of which will be related to nuclear power," said Evy when met on the sidelines of the 'Electricity Connect 2024' event which was held in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 17.

Evy explained that to run a nuclear power plant there are 19 rounds of nuclear energy infrastructure that must be prepared.

"16 aspects, based on the information we received, are ready from several stakeholders," he said.

What is currently homework, he said, are three other aspects. These three aspects include national position, management (NEPIO formation), and involvement of stakeholders.

"The three things will be discussed a lot in the Electricity Connect," said Evy.

Regarding industry players invited to attend the Electricity Connect, Evy said they would share information and experiences about what challenges they face when running a nuclear power generation program.

"At the Electricity Connect there will be sharing of information, what challenges there will be when we will run nuclear programs and others," he said.

Electricity Connect is an event that is held every year by the MKI to commemorate National Electricity Day (HLN). The Electricity Connect will be held in various seminars and exhibitions.

Evy hopes that conference attendees and visitors can exchange information, knowledge, experience, and the latest technology that can encourage strengthening and accelerating energy transitions in the ASEAN region.

Previously, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) said that nuclear power plants (PLTN) were included in the 2033 National Electricity General Plan (RUKN).

The Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya Listiani Dewi, revealed that she had discussed several times related to nuclear power with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

What is of current concern, said Eniya, is the issue of safety, technological readiness, and human resources (HR) that handles the PLTN.

Therefore, Eniya said that currently the establishment of the Nuclear Energy Program (NEPIO) is to oversee the implementation of the PLTN.
